Our Expertise at a Glance

Environmental Site Assessments – Phase I, II & III

Our experts perform all required environmental assessments and studies, in compliance with financial institution, operational, and regulatory requirements.
We verify legal obligations, existing practices, and potential contamination sources, then issue accurate and practical recommendations to ensure compliance with current regulations and standards.

  • Phase I: Conducted under CSA Z768-01 ASTM E1527-21, and/or Guide de Caractérisation  based on document review, site history, applicable regulations, and environmental inspection.
  • Phase II: Environmental sampling of soils and water through boreholes and exploratory trenches, followed by laboratory analyses, respecting ASTM E1903-19, CSA Z769-00 (R2023) and/or the Guide de Caractérisation.
  • Phase III: Detailed delineation of contamination, volume assessment, and remediation planning.
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment: Supports major projects or those subject to specific regulatory processes (zoning, municipalities, sensitive corridors).

Environmental audits can also be carried out at different project stages (pre-construction, during works, post-remediation, etc.).

Environmental Remediation and Monitoring

When contaminants are identified, we provide strict oversight of remediation operations, including:

  • Excavation, treatment, or containment of contaminated soils;
  • Independent sampling and remediation monitoring;
  • Contaminated soil traceability in compliance with Traces Québec, including manifest verification and certification by a qualified professional.

A final monitoring report is issued, confirming compliance with site use criteria.

Environmental Characterization of Soils and Groundwater

Our team carries out a wide range of environmental characterization work, including:

  • Characterization of soils and groundwater or surface water, in accordance with MELCCFP guidelines and ASTM, CSA standards;
  • Drilling, exploratory trenches, environmental testing, sampling, and chemical analyses (VOCs, hydrocarbons, PAHs, metals);
  • Tailored diagnostics to define possible remediation interventions;
  • Development of a remediation plan;
  • Implementation of post-construction environmental monitoring programs.

    Wildlife, Flora, and Wetlands Studies

    As part of development or construction projects, we conduct thorough studies of wildlife, plant life, and wetlands to:

    • Identify sensitive or protected species;
    • Delineate wetlands and water bodies (ponds, marshes, streams, peatlands);
    • Produce reports that meet regulatory requirements (permits, compensation, authorizations).

      Tank Removal

      We offer full service for underground and above-ground tank removal, including:

      • Pumping, cleaning, cutting, disposal, and recycling;
      • Environmental soil sampling for hydrocarbon detection;
      • Backfilling in compliance with the strictest standards and recommendations in case of contamination.

        Contaminated Soil Traceability (Traces Québec)

        We assist businesses and municipalities in complying with the Regulation on the Traceability of Excavated Contaminated Soils (RCTSCE). Our team provides thorough, compliant, and documented monitoring for all projects, including:

        • Full management of the Traces Québec process, from excavation to final destination;
        • Verification and control of transport manifests;
        • Mandatory certification by a qualified professional for projects exceeding 200 metric tons, as required under RCTSCE;
        • Laboratory analyses for soil characterization and validation;
        • Preparation of a final monitoring report.
