Our Expertises

Pressuremeter Testing, Geotechnical Studies and Precise Recommendations

Because every project must rely on solid foundations, our team supports you at every stage—from initial geotechnical exploration to site monitoring and controls, including slope stability analysis and technical recommendations when required.

Specialized in geotechnical analysis, we use the Ménard pressuremeter test alongside conventional borehole methods in Quebec to optimize soil geotechnical properties whenever bearing capacity improvements can be achieved. Our engineers and technicians are trained to perform and interpret these tests with accuracy, on all types of sites, whether straightforward, complex, or with restricted access.

Agile, Rigorous, and Field-Adapted Geotechnical Expertise

Our services align with the needs of all stakeholders involved in every type of project: engineering firms, general contractors, architects, municipalities, and ministries. Our sound advice helps guide the early project stages and optimize the accuracy of drilling, sampling, analysis, and recommendations. All our reports are prepared in compliance with current standards and are easily integrated into your engineering plans.

Field Geotechnical Testing

Our experienced professionals provide reliable data, complete execution reports, and standardized technical sheets (MTQ, BNQ, CSA compatible).

We offer the following field tests:

  • Core drilling or destructive drilling and sampling, carried out with equipment adapted to site conditions (urban environments, restricted access, slopes, etc.)
  • Ménard pressuremeter tests, ideal for reducing uncertainties, risks, and cost overruns, while optimizing foundations with high reliability
  • SPT (Standard Penetration Tests), commonly used for soil classification and seismic design
  • CPT / CPTu tests (without drilling), ideal for fine soils and vibration-sensitive areas
  • Vane shear tests, to measure short-term shear strength in fine soils
  • Dynamic penetration tests (DPM, DPL, DPSH types), particularly suited for granular soils or shallow-depth studies
  • Soil characterization and strength assessment in our laboratory, based on samples taken in situ
  • Borehole instrumentation: piezometers (groundwater monitoring), inclinometers (monitoring horizontal displacements—slope stability, deep excavations, linear structures).

    Preliminary Geotechnical Exploration Study

Ideal during the planning stage for any type of project (residential, commercial or industrial buildings, developments, parking areas, municipal infrastructure, etc.), this study provides several advantages even before your project parameters are defined:

    • Establish an overall picture of the site’s soil conditions
    • Identify potential constraints (bearing capacity, excavation or backfilling needs, groundwater, liquefaction)
    • Anticipate technical and financial uncertainties
    • Guide the design phase and optimize construction costs accordingly

Our experts deliver a clear report containing all measured data, a drilling location plan, and preliminary development recommendations to help steer the design study.

Geotechnical Study in Support of Project Design

Once the project parameters are set (building footprint, excavation depth, layout), the geotechnical study enables you to:

    • Assess soil bearing capacity and deformation characteristics
    •  Recommend foundation solutions (conventional shallow foundations, raft slabs, deep foundations, ground improvement, etc.) and construction methods (earthworks, retaining systems, water management)

The report you receive details the context and collected data, a drilling plan, result interpretations, and foundation and development recommendations.

    Slope or Embankment Stability Study

For sites with significant elevation differences, excavation slopes, or structures located in sensitive areas, our team performs modelling based on field surveys, borehole data, and laboratory analyses. Using industry-recognized software (Slide2, Talren, etc.), these analyses assess short- and long-term slope movement risks.

You receive a complete report covering geotechnical profiles, slope stability, analysis results, and recommendations for design or implementation of corrective measures.

    Geotechnical Expertise for Structural Distress

When cracks, slab settlement or structural instability appear—and following consultation with a structural engineer—our geotechnical team is mandated to:

    • Visit the site and review existing documents
    • Perform targeted in-situ and laboratory testing
    • Identify the geotechnical causes of the damage
    • Recommend appropriate corrective measures (reinforcement, drainage, foundation underpinning, etc.)
